Arab Money

This beat is insane. I don't know what else to say except that Kenza and I just spent 15 mins sit/dancing on her couch to it! We got that dance on LOCK! Psych, we best be hearing this tomorrow night (and Pop Champagne).
The video remix is hilarious.

(I love the girly in pink!)
Also, for all who are still requesting A Milli, Paper Planes, and One More Time; please get on your downloading game and make me proud. In case you can't get a hold of it, below you will find a Arab Money Dance tutorial.
Enjoy.

Thursdays... Don't really miss them.

I headed to Toyko after the W last night... forgot that it was electro night and the bar transformed into a horrible mess of university students jumping up and down, throwing their hands in the air. Kenza and I went directly to the DJ booth, while she was saying hi and stashing our jackets, I spotted this...

So freaking funny. First, I don't know how many time's I've heard those songs. People are still requesting them that often that they had to put up a sign refusing requests from the heartbroken little AA wearing darlings? Secondly, what's with the grammar? I hope it is the language barrier causing this, if not the Montreal schooling system might need reviewing.

After spending too much time and money there, I grabbed my leather, Kenza grabbed her fur (yes, shake your heads my vegan friends)... And then it happened. Hatch put on Heartbroken by T2 Ft Jodie! My night had been made. Thanks for the request Kenza. Xo

Moi. Muah.

I like what I'm wearing today.
Melange of Crooks, Keds, and (I wish) Cashmere.
xo.

Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge.

I think that winking is underrated. It means so many things, like 'hey there, I think you're cute' or 'I'm not going to say it, but you know what I mean' or 'Inside Joke!' or 'I'm a creepy old man and I'll think of you when I get home (like the Cours Mont Royal/T's apt dude)(ewwwwww). The meanings are endless; it's just an understanding no matter what. If you catch me winking these days it's because I'm trying to represent it so it can loose the creepy old man reputation.

Knitta Crew

Upon reading Charlotte's blog I came across her props to Knitta (http://www.knittaplease.com/), so I checked it out. Since we have been on the subject of street art I wanted to post these guys. So cute, maybe I'll start a Crochet Crew, or Charlotte, a Christmas Crew?
They've done the wall of China, all around Europe, LA, San Fran, and also took a trip to Montreal, here are a few spots you might recognize.

Beautif-riends.

How absoultly beautiful is Jen? I love this pic, I needed to post it.
Thanks for the lovely Friday night Ladies and Gents. (I'll post the pics on fbook soon)

I have cool friends.

Not only is Charlotte one of my fashion muses... she is the featured MySpace Fashion Muse too! Congratulations Beautiful.

Finally Winter!

The snow is finally falling and staying. It was so beautiful last night with it stuck to the trees, and it actually isn’t too bad today (sans rain). I’m actually excited for winter, I’m sure I’ll be singing a different tune in a few months from now; but at the moment the Christmas songs, Canada Goose jackets, the ‘do you have your winter tires on?’ question are all quite welcoming.

Today... woohoo Christmas sprit! Yay yay!

In 4 months from now... Kill me, my back hurts, my boots have salt stains, if I slip on the ice again I'm not getting back up. Wah wah!

Aakash Nihalani

I just came across this amazing street artist. Aakash Nihalani takes a roll of tape and contours interesting shapes that he sees in NYC. I hopped onto his website http://www.aakashnihalani.com/ and checked out his stuff. There are different series of his street art and his collabos with the street artist Poster Boy are great. I was curious to know the material he used to make his designs so I found a YouTube of him making a lot of the featured pieces on his site. Pretty fun stuff, wish I had noticed the pieces when I was out there and hopefully they wont be taken down by the time I go back.
enjoy.

So Sweet, Too Short.

Remember that time Hana had Blackberry Messenger?
Wahhh... for those of you who don't know Hana, she has been an iPhone die hard since day one. Having one of my leading ladies in NYC is pretty difficult. So the day I got my first text with an eight digit number and a message saying 'I don't know what to do with this thing'; I was shocked. It was temporary, it was short, but definitely sweet. After trying my hardest to convince her, H has gone back to her first love.

iHate the iPhone.

Shiba Inu Puppy Cam

This is what I am talking about.

Live TV : Ustream

Munny

I choose Dunny over Munny any day but I saw one of these videos on Missbehave online so I searched them. They are so freaking cute, cuter than the Shiba Inu Puppy Cam actually and I thought that was impossible

I Heart You

Had a great veggie fajita night at some friend's house the other night. Tracey was cutting a pepper, turns out one slice was in shape of a heart. I love when things like this happen.

Another Fall Favorite

My Moschino Heart and Peace Scarf.
I love you scarf.

Out With The Old and In With The New

The day has finally arrived.
Check the beauty out.

Crapanizer

I am not going to lie. I kinda like this song.
So I started watching and for the first twenty seconds, I was like SHIT! this is hott (no pun intended) Brit looks so good. Then the wig, the striped blouse, metallic belt, red hair, fake tattoos, it never ended! urgh... This video is horrible! But my favorite part is for sure at the end when she bounces off the bed, a la when I was 6.

C.O. Bigelow® Ultra Menta Lip Shine

Ever wonder why I smell like peppermint? C.O Bigelow's Ultra Menta Lip Shine from Bath & Body Works. Best lip gloss that have ever touched my lips. Never leave my house without it.

If you are a good friend & you are in the States & you cross a B&BW, can you pick one (or three) up for me? I loose these tubes like I loose my marbles. Thanks! xoxo.

11:11

I am writing this at 11:11.
I am going mental. I see way too many ‘1’s in a day. My old roommate used to see them and then passed it on to me. Typically I’ll see it twice a day, but some times I’ll see all four; 11:11am, 1:11pm, 11:11pm, and 1:11am. People always tell me ‘its just because you are noticing the numbers now’ and yeah I am sure that that is a part of it but there are times I will have not touched my phone for 30min (yes that does happen at times) then I’ll randomly grab it out of my purse and bamn! 11:11! Or I’ll have missed calls at 1:11, I’ll look down at my iPod and the song will have been playing for 1min and 11 seconds.

I’ve googled it. And seems like I am not the only one, there are millions of pages. So many explanations… check it out.

Out of Season

This is the hoodie I am wearing today. It's totally last season, I've worn it only a handful of times and I don't know why. It's so comfortable & the hood is huge. I remember my first months of working at Twelve, seeing the pdfs for this & waiting & waiting to grab one from the warehouse. When they came in the were immediately turned around to the shops. So I waited some more, lost hope, then a refused shipment came back.I snatched this & three others up.

Those MOB ladies know whats up.

I'm also wearing the Lancome Rouge Absolu lipstick in Fauve my Grandmother used to wear. Miss you Nanny.

Renee

This was one of my favorite songs in highschool.

Say Bye to the Brick

So, It happened.
Last night.
After months of worrying (since last Feb. actually) my Blackberry has broken beyond repair. Wahhh! I'm sure some people are shaking their heads right now, thinking 'it's about time'. So for all the haters (Leslie) out there; the time for me to take a step into the 21st century has come.

Let's please take a few minutes to mourn the passing of such a great friend.

One of his last nights out, Brick joined me on Plaid Night.

Brick, making me smile.

Brick and I just arriving to New York.

Brick making friends.

Brick chilling with a bud at Magic in Vegas.

Brick realizing he's not as slim as the others.

Taken today. Struggling to survive.

I'll let you all know once he has been replaced.

Mick Boogie

Thursday night I hit up Blue Dog for the first time in a while. I got to chill with my two favorite DJs Psychology and New Money that I hadn't seen in forever; while Mike Boogie was spinning. Excuse me for stating the obvious, but it sounded like a mix tape was playing the whole time. Kenza was yelling out request and he was dropping them in instantaneously; everything was so smooth. Good food followed good music; we hit up LNE (Late Night Eats) at Dunn's, played a little bit of table twister (by far the most fun version I've played), ate some Montreal smoked meat (NO MUSTARD!), and headed home way past our bedtime.

Its.... Sean P!

Went to see Sean Price (and Ill Bill) this Wednesday. I'm a pretty big BCC fan so I was pretty excited. Turns out I don't really know much of his stuff, lol, was a little lost during the show. I'm more of a 9th wonder fan so I guess I only really know the music they do together; seems he wasn't into it this show. The crowd was crazy weird, normally you get your normal hip hop heads, or your snowboard dudes, or the mtl 'gangsters'. But there was none of that. I didn't recognize one person, there were no ladies and everyone was french, bridges and tunnel crowd? People actually started chanting LCN! LCN! (La Coka Nostra)when Ill Bill was on; that was my outro.

In the end, I got to hear my favorite Onion Head and Kenza heard hers In My Heart. Got to witness Sean P imitating a butterfly coming out of a cocoon and impersonating Barry White. Good way to spend a Wednesday.

Thanks Kenza WRG? for the tics.

Covering My Ass.

So I have this problem; it’s my spelling. I am horrible. I think that being a bad speller is the worst quality and I don’t know how I got this terrible. Has Outlook and Bbm ruined me? Is it because I have stopped reading novels? Anyways, this is a ‘cover my ass’ post; warning you guys that, yes, there will be spelling mistakes. I’ll try my hardest to keep it legible.

My Fall Favorite.

This is one of my fall favs. The Crooks & Castles Scripter Flannel Button up, I grabbed a size small and shrunk the s%@t out of it and it fits perfectly. Now I just need the red one.

I'm Bossy.

Who gets married to Nas? Who weds in a green dress? Who has a song called I'm Bossy? Who gets arrested twice? This post is my homage to Kelis.

Kelis ft. Too Short - I'm Bossy

This video was released in 2006. Do you see the clothing? So fashion forward, I'd rock everything she wears in this clip. I'm pretty sure everyone thought that Carrie in the new Sex in the City movie was being so 'trendy' rocking a studded belt with designer dresses this season. Um Sarah Jessica Parker is a few years late.

ps. Too Short sucks. Oh, and the only thing that dates this video is the LRG

MYC

Last minute on Friday, I hopped on a bus to go visit Hana and her new place in NYC. I had a great time, I really love the city more every time I go. I try to be as less cheesy with my camera as possible; so here are the few pics I managed to take.

After arriving into the city and almost getting lost/trampled in the NYC Halloween Parade in Washington Square, H and I headed out for some beers and people watching. New Yorkers take Halloween to a whole different level.

Ninja in a Tutu. This dude was gangster but was loving the skirt, he posed for too many pictures to not question the questionable.

Andy Warhol.

Worst, most expensive pizza. This spot was slammed, I do not understand why. $5.80 for a slice of crap.

Saturday morning Hana and I hit up Babycakes; a vegan muffin spot in LES. I grabbed a Zucchini Flax seed hot out of the oven and an organic coffee, amazing. It erased the horrible pizza from my memory.

Halloween Spirit, the sparkles from these pumpkins could be found on the sidewalk a block up.

Oh, Red Bamboo; a Vegetarian spot on west 4Th st. Where do I start, do I have the energy? Long story short, worst meal of the weekend. This spot came so highly recommended, I am very disappointed.

Sunday brunch at Spitzers was amazing. Hana and I split the Shepard's Omelet and the Blackberry Pancakes. Couldn't have asked for better; a perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Sorry Hana, I had too.

After brunch we heading for Brooklyn, hit up Williamsburg did some vintage shopping and met up with some friends. Had another great meal at Juliette, the duck confit was to die for.

Ends up I didn't make the trip back home that night, due to crazy complications I had to extend my trip. (Guess there are worse things)

Monday we slept in, hit Century 21 for the 2nd time, then got a last minute invite to the Rocksmith offices. Headed to Brooklyn and was welcomed with open arms. After seeing some of the Summer 09 line and seeing the beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge we heading out for a Peruvian Chinese diner. I wish I had my camera, the food was incredible. Thanks again Ralph.

After good food, friends, shopping, conversation, my weekend had ended. I grabbed the midnight bus and headed back to Mtl to make it into the office in time.

Don't Be Fooled.

For those who don't know, I am a LeSportsac fan. I get hot and faint when I see them in a store. Good thing is there are so many crazy styles and colors that its hard to find one that really suits me. So the moment I found this pattern I got the hot faint feeling and commissioned my ladies in LA to hit the store on Melrose. Then to my dismay, turns out the pattern is hot PINK and black, does this picture look pink & black to you? Maybe I should get my eyes checked, cause I see red. I'm still so pissed, guess I won't be toting a new LSS this season.
